Four similar screening approaches. Four different outcomes. What can we learn?

IFOS Istanbul 2026

From September 9–13, 2026, PATH MEDICAL joined the XXIII IFOS World Congress in Istanbul, where ENT and audiology professionals from around the world explored advances in clinical care, artificial intelligence and new technologies.

From screening protocols to real-world results

Why can similar newborn hearing screening programmes lead to different outcomes? Peter Böttcher addressed quality criteria across four project approaches and shared clinical experience with otoacoustic emission (OAE) testing using Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC). Both topics highlight the importance of reliable measurements and practical screening workflows.

Hands-on diagnostics and scientific exchange

At four demonstration stations, visitors explored QSCREEN, SENTIERO ADVANCED, SENTIERO DESKTOP and nanoTymp/nanoAudio. Dr. Hans Oswald also presented on multi-frequency tympanometry and multiple acoustic reflex measurements. Together with our Turkish partner AVM SAGLIK, we enjoyed exchanging ideas with hearing care professionals from many regions.

A big thank you to everyone who visited us at IFOS Istanbul 2026!
